The Original Roulette Rogue

Pierre Dugal was the first genuine roulette rogue who found his own way to cheat the casinos way back when in the early 19th Century. In the early 1800s Pierre Dugal took the Monte Carlo Casino to town over a long period using roulette.

Whilst he himself had no system, no skills or ability to play roulette he did have a unique skill which would not help him with online roulette – he was a carpenter. In the good old days Dugal used to hide himself away within the casino in Monte Carlo as the place was shut down and locked up. Overnight he would sneak out with his tools and file down some of the wooden grooves inside certain roulette wheel cylinders. This meant that the balls would land more frequently on certain numbers and less frequently on others.

He himself would not then go and play the next day instead he used several family members including his four wives over the period and they would play the tables picking up the wins for him. Despite his abilities to cheat the casino he wasn’t very good when away from the roulette cylinders and resorted to drinking and womanising which in turn led one of his wives to shop him to the Gaming Police. He was imprisoned in a wooden cell and that was where he spent the last years of his life.
