Roulette Strategies and Tactics Tips
1. Before you start to play roulette, remember it has some of the worst odds in the casino. American roulette has a house edge of over 5% whilst other casino games offer better odds than this. However, European Roulette is better than this.
2. A European roulette wheel only has one 0 instead of two, which halves the house edge. So if you can find it, choose European roulette over American roulette. Over a period of time, that will save you a lot of money when playing roulette.
3. Avoid the Martingale system unless you have a clear understanding of how to play. The Martingale system means you double your bet every time you lose, in order to cover your losses. It is a good idea, but eventually you will go on a losing streak. And even if you do have an infinite bankroll, you will eventually get your bets up to a size beyond the betting limits, and when that happens, you are finished!
4. People think betting on the 0 or 00 eliminates the house edge, this isn’t true. These are just additional bets with the same house edge as all of the other bets on the table. There are still 38 numbers on the wheel, and the payout is still 35 to 1 instead of 37 to 1.
5. The cost to play roulette is quite low as you will only make around 30 bets per hour, even though the house edge on roulette is high. For example, if you are playing a $5 bet each bet, then your betting $150 per hour. With a 5% house edge, you could lose on average $7.50 per hour over the long run. You can offset that cost with a few expensive drinks.
