Roulette Myths and Legends – Avoiding bad bets
Bad bets can be made in any game of chance, but in roulette, the following tips will help you to avoid as many mistakes as possible.
- Corner bets. Avoid the numbers 0, 00, 1, 2 and 3. The house advantage increases. They pay more, but there is a reason for that, as the ball does not fall into the slot that often. Clearly, follow your heart and bet accordingly. By betting on the above numbers, you will lose.
- Play the European roulette. It has 37 slots, not 39 and not the 0 and 00 as the American wheel. The less numbers on the wheel decreases the house edge and you have a better chance of a win.
- Never bet on single numbers. While the payouts are big, the house has the edge as you have very little chance of hitting it.
- Following the history of the ball. Guessing where the ball will fall based on previous spins is futile. The ball has no memory and any given number has the probability of coming up again 1 in 36.
- Finally, the reds and blacks. This is always a 50 -50 bet. Again, no history of previous colours will affect the next spin.
