Roulette Cheaters

Roulette is one of the most common games to cheat at.

One method is called Past Posting. After the dealer spins the wheel and the ball is about to land, the bettor will change the bet while the dealer looks at the wheel and winning number.

Another method is ball control. Roulette is strongly influenced by the croupier and so their actions influence where the ball may fall. Experienced dealers know how to spin the wheel and what slot the ball will fall into. No proof really exists of this happening. But if a player believes the dealer is cheating, then watch the wheel before placing a bet.

The use of hidden computers are also used to predict the movement of the wheel and calculate where the ball falls. Casinos do not allow use of them. Recently, a Hungarian was arrested in Australia for having a computer in his shoe. It calculated the velocity of the spin and what slot the ball fell on.

Laser scanners in a cell phone is another method. After a UK dealer spins the wheel three times, the ball must circle the wheel 3 times as well. This device was supposed to calculate the result very quickly.

Most governments now prohibit or have proposals concerning the use of any equipment in a casino. Consequently, people who are caught with an electronic device may face prosecution or be thrown out of the casino.
