How to use Roulette Chips like a pro

When a player starts to play Roulette, the first thing they must do is to purchase their chips. The player buys-in and these players’ chips have their own unique colour. This allows the dealer to identify the player, clear and pay the bets when that game is over.

The value of the chips would be the buy-in divided by the number of chips received. The dealer will place a token on top of the dealer’s stack of that colour of chips to indicate the value.

The roulette table comes with six to eight sets of different coloured chips, each set consisting of 300 chips. Usually, chips are allocated to a particular table at a casino so as to avoid confusion amongst dealers and players.

More specifically, each table has a minimum and maximum bet so that the player is aware of how many chips to place on their selected bet, whether it be just one number, colour or set of numbers. Other players may select the same, hence why each has a separate colour.

At the end of the session, these Roulette chips are collected up and exchanged for standard casino chips that can then be cashed in at the cashier.
