Laying the Odds
Wagering on a likely winner in spite of a payoff less than the amount wagered. Usually seen in sports betting when there is a clear favorite. This is opposite of Taking the Odds.
Layout
The surface of a table, including the areas where players can place bets.
Let It Ride
To increase a wager by two.
Limit
In poker games, the game that has a fixed limit on how much you can wager or raise in each round.
Load up
Playing the maximum number of coins per spin that a slot or video game machine allows.
Long Run
A Theoretical description of an ultimate balancing-out of wins and losses over a long period of time.
Loose
Slot machines are loose when they are paying off and giving the house only a small advantage over the player.
Low poker
Also called lowball, this version of poker is a pot is awarded to the hand with the lowest poker value.
Lumpy
A dealer who is not dealing smoothly
