Baccarat
A table game using 6 or 8 decks of cards. Minimal skills are required to play this game.
Back Line
In a game of Craps, same phrase as Don’t Pass Line.
Bag
English casino term for “thousand.” Three bag, therefore, means three thousand.
Banker
In card games, this is the dealer.
Bank Roll
Commonly known as Roll, this means the total money that players (or the casinos) have to support the bets made by them.
Bar the 12
In the game of Craps, this action changes the 12 into a Push on the Don’t Pass Line.
Barred
Same meaning as Banned.
Base
The area on a Craps table where most of the bets are put.
Base Dealer
A Craps dealer who is in charge of one of the Bases.
Basic Strategy
The proper way to play Blackjack.
Bet
A Wager. Money a player uses.
Betting Limits
The maximum and also minimum amounts of money that players are allowed to place on one bet.
Betting Right
In Craps games, a player bets with the shooter.
Betting Wrong
In Craps games, a player bets against the shooter.
Bingo
A prize game where players can purchase cards with numbers on them in a 5×5 grid.
Bingo marker
A large crayon or ink dauber that is often used to cover the numbers on a bingo game card.
Black
The most common colour used in casinos for $100 chips.
Blackjack
A fun card game where the players play against the dealer to get as close to 21 as possible without going over.
Blind Bet
In poker, a player bets without seeing his or her cards
Blinds
This is a forced bet in Texas Hold `Em Poker.
Bluff
During poker, a player bluffs when raising a weak hand hoping to drive out players with stronger hands.
Board
In poker, these are community cards dealt face-up in the center of the table.
Boat
Another term for a full house.
Book
To accept a bet.
Box
In Craps games, an area of the table controlled by the Boxman.
Boxman
In Craps games, the casino employee in charge of the table.
Break
In Blackjack, to pass 21.
Buck
A wager of $100.
Bug
A joker.
Bump
To raise.
Burn Cards
Undealt cards, placed in the discard tray after a dealer has shuffled and cut the deck.
Bust
The same as Break.
Button
In poker, a small disc used to designate the dealer position. Moved from player to player after each hand.
Buy In
To convert cash into chips
